To do that launch System Preferences - Keyboard and select the Keyboard Shortcuts tab. Choose Mission Control and you'll see these shortcuts to the right. For example, you can close 'Dashboard' widgets while holding down the option key. I can't find a way to close windows and/or exit an application directly from Mission Control. Though I'm looking for a keyboard shortcut or builtin solution ideally, Third Party solutions are acceptable so long as the application is simple and non-intrusive.

I'd like to manage (close) the application windows for running applications, from Mission Control. Gnome Shell has something similar to Mission Control but each window has an 'X' at the top left that allows you to close it from the overview. This is the most natural way for me to 'clean up' my open windows.

To quite any open app from anywhere is most effectively done from the heads-up display: command tab opens the heads-up display.

Does safari work on windows. Once the heads-up display is visible continue to hold the command key,

You move through the apps by taping the Tab key repeatable to move left to right, (or the tilde key to move right to left.)

Once you land on your app, Q will then quit the app (as in command Q.)
